Why was the program created?
For over 45 years, ACDI/VOCA has worked to empower communities around the world through economic development. To help ensure ACDI/VOCA’s continued work overseas we understand the importance of investing in the professional and academic development of students in international studies. ACDI/VOCA’s internship program gives graduate students enrolled in master’s degree programs the opportunity to expand their professional knowledge and experience in international development.
What will I learn from this opportunity?
You will gain professional experience in the field of international development working on programs that focus on agribusiness systems, enterprise development, financial services, community development and food security.
What are the work responsibilities and expectations?
Working in a team-oriented environment, you will share in the satisfaction of serving our overseas beneficiaries. You will learn firsthand how headquarters and field staff work together to support development projects. You may also participate in proposal development by researching technical and budget information and helping to conceive new projects.
When are the internships offered?
Internships are generally full-time for up to three months during the summer.
What are the requirements?
You must be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program with a concentration in international development or a related field, and you must have an overall grade point average of at least 3.5.
Will I receive compensation?
ACDI/VOCA’s internships are paid.
